Interment Rights
Interment Rights are issued in accordance with the South Australian Burial and Cremation Act 2013 in order to permit the interment and memorialisation of persons within the boundaries of Centennial Park.
Person or persons to be interred / memorialised
- The interment right holder has the right to determine who may be interred / memorialised in the site as circumstances may require in accordance with the operating policies of the Authority and in accordance with the South Australian Burial and Cremation Act 2013.
- If you are not the interment right holder, you generally do not have any rights over the site regardless of whether or not you have paid for the renewal of the site.
Renewal of the interment right
The interment right may be renewed beyond the initial term at any time upon payment of the relevant fee so long as the interment right has not been cancelled, surrendered or expired and complies with the operating policies of the Authority and in accordance with the South Australian Burial and Cremation Act 2013.
Transfer of the interment right
The interment right may be transferred in accordance with the operating policies of the Authority and the South Australian Burial and Cremation Act 2013.
If the interment right is surrendered or cancelled
If an interment right has been cancelled and reclaimed by Centennial Park in accordance with the Policies of the Authority or is surrendered, the cemetery may reuse the site in accordance with Section 38 of the South Australian Burial and Cremation Act 2013.
