The Funeral and Memorial Services Team plays a vital role in supporting funeral directors and families to ensure funeral and memorial services are delivered with care, professionalism and dignity. We are passionate about providing a high standard of service during some of life’s most sensitive moments.

We are seeking a Funeral and Memorial Services Attendant to assist our team on a casual basis. This is a hands-on role suited to an empathetic, reliable and “can do” team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a sensitive environment.

Reporting to the Team Leader, Funeral and Memorial Services, you will demonstrate sound judgement, problem solving and critical thinking skills to support service delivery and enhance the experience of our funeral directors, families and visitors to Centennial Park.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting both funeral director led services and family led services arranged directly with Centennial Park, ensuring a consistent, compassionate experience for all families.
  • Preparing service spaces prior to services ensuring cleanliness, stock levels and quality standards are met
  • Liaise with funeral directors and/or families prior to service commencement to ensure all arrangements are in place
  • Receive and recording coffins, placing them in the correct service space and completing all required identification checks
  • Checking audio visual requirements, ensuring materials are received, tested and facilitated during services
  • Assisting with the overall facilitation of services, liaising with funeral directors or families throughout the service and responding to matters as they arise with professionalism and discretion
  • Acting as a concierge to guide families between service spaces and facilities within Centennial Park
  • Completing post-service pack down, including removal of audio-visual materials and cleaning service spaces to a high standard
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding coffin transfers to the Crematorium and communicating burial service timeframes sensitively
  • Providing reception relief as required, greeting visitors and responding to enquiries with care and compassion
  • Undertaking administrative tasks that support and enhance the overall customer experience
  • Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of public areas, service spaces and foyers

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Highly effective communication skills in a people-focused, service-based environment
  • Strong organisational skills, self-motivation and attention to detail
  • Professionalism and compassion when handling difficult and sensitive situations
  • Strong customer service and relationship building skills with diverse stakeholders
  • Sound IT literacy, including confidence using Windows-based systems and multiple applications
  • Understanding of audio-visual equipment, or the ability to learn new technology quickly
  • A current Driver’s License is a requirement for this role (Class C).
  • Experience working in a sensitive or community focused environment will be viewed favourably

This is a casual position, with hours determined by service bookings.  We anticipate up to 12 hours per week (indicative only), requiring flexibility to work Monday to Friday across core business hours.

The recruitment process for the preferred candidate(s) will include the completion of pre-employment medical relevant to the role including functional capacity evaluation and drug and alcohol testing.

Executive Manager Operations

Permanent full-time

We are seeking an experienced Executive Manager Operations to join our Executive Management Team. This pivotal role oversees infrastructure, grounds maintenance, burial and cremation services, and WHS compliance. You’ll lead strategic projects, champion sustainability, and foster a culture of service excellence.

In preparation for the impending retirement of their long serving Executive Manager of Operations in early 2026, Centennial Park is seeking an experienced Executive to oversee the full operational portfolio.

This includes infrastructure and grounds maintenance, burial, cremation and memorialisation and oversight of the Park’s WHS management systems and practices. A key member of Executive Management Team, the role is critical in ensuring the ongoing environmental and commercial sustainability of the Park.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the key areas of responsibilities include:

  • ensuring customer satisfaction by fostering a client-centric culture, to deliver service excellence through;
    • service delivery management of core functions – memorialisation, burial and cremation services, in line with legislative requirements;
    • landscape design that achieves high visual amenity and meets community needs;
    • overseeing WHS compliance, safety leadership, incident management and continuous improvement across Centennial Park;
    • leading the development and implementation of programs that support and increase environmentally sustainable practices and services throughout the Park;
  • providing high level project management oversight, both operationally and financially, for key infrastructure, asset and environmental projects;
  • developing and implementing departmental plans, objectives and key performance indicators that ensure the achievement of service delivery, and align with the broader organisational strategy and priorities of the Environmental Sustainability Plan;
  • providing leadership to departmental leaders and team members to foster high performance, diversity in ideas, accountability and positive wellbeing, and
  • managing the department’s finances by developing, implementing, monitoring budget and expenditure.
