Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month 2022

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month, promoting greater awareness, remembrance, and support for individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by the loss of their child.

During October, Centennial Park invited families and friends who have experienced such loss, to write a note of remembrance to their little loved one and hang on our tribute wall, located in our Jubilee Complex.

The families of little ones in our care were also provided the opportunity to collect a copy of ‘Yesterday You Were Here’ by South Australian author/illustrator Melissa Little. Discussing the loss of a loved one with children can be a very difficult subject and this book may help children make sense of what has happened.

Butterflies were placed throughout our children’s memorial areas to recognise the unique and precious lives of the little loved ones resting here.
