Our Planning and Memorial Consultants are at the forefront of our unique business.   Frequently being the first contact point, our driven team provide a customer centric approach and deliver valuable insight to options available, including tailored services that Centennial Park is proud to offer.  Often the starting point for these customer relationships can be highly sensitive and at times, emotionally heightened.

Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a special individual, empathetic by nature, motivated by providing the best customer experience possible and driven by exceeding sales and service targets within the sensitive bounds of our industry.

Reporting to the Manager Customer Service and Memorial Sales, You will nurture relationships with a diverse range of valued customers whilst you showcase Centennial Park’s optimum service and memorialisation offerings.

In addition, you will liaise with Funeral Directors, Monumental Masons, suppliers and the general public regarding burials, cremations, service bookings and monumental permits.

Your specific tasks will include:

  • Undertake appointments with clients and liaise with key stakeholders including funeral directors and suppliers in arranging memorials and related products and services.
  • Respond to customer enquiries, including unscheduled in-person enquiries in order to promote Centennial Park’s pre-eminent service offering and maximise sales opportunities.
  • Meet with families and the bereaved to deliver the Ashes of their loved ones and discuss memorialisation options.
  • Proactively investigate potential concerns in relation to memorial options for clients.
  • Ensure clients receive accurate information and that applications, orders and other relevant documentation are processed appropriately and promptly.
  • Lead tours of the grounds to promote positive community engagement and highlight Centennial Park’s services and options.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records in accordance with our Records Management Policy and other legislative requirements
  • Positively contribute to a team oriented culture, where diversity in ideas is encouraged and people are united in a shared purpose.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to foster collaborative working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Organised, self-motivated with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and achieve timeframes.
  • Ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations whilst demonstrating empathy and professionalism to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success in a sales and target driven environment (within a sensitive customer service industry would be highly desirable).
  • Well developed administrative skills and competency in Windows based systems and the MS Office suit of programs.
  • A Class C Drivers Licence is essential for this role.
  • Experience in dealing with bereaved families is highly desirable

This opportunity is a part-time role of 27.5 hours per week. The work roster pattern would ideally be across 3.5 full days per week, within our core business hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm.

The Memorial Sales and Customer Service Team, comprising of our Customer Service Officers, Planning and Memorial Consultants and Retail Gift Shop Team Members are at the forefront of our unique business.  Frequently being the first customer contact point, these specialised team members provide a customer centric approach and valuable insight to options available, and tailored experiences that Centennial Park are proud to provide.  Often the starting point for these customer relationships can be in confronting and emotional circumstances.

We are seeking a special individual who is very “can do”, empathetic, resilient and customer focused, to join our Team in the role of Customer Service Officer.

Reporting to the Team Leader Customer Service, You will liaise with a diverse range of valued customers whilst you are performing specific tasks on a rotational basis including customer service and inquiry, administration, and record maintenance.

Your specific tasks will include:

  • Consistently providing high level customer service, both over the phone (incoming and outgoing calls) and, on a rotational basis, providing back up support with face to face customer service on busy front-of-house reception
  • Undertaking a range of administrative functions, including records maintenance of memorial positions
  • Providing a supportive and empathetic customer experience in meeting with family members to issue Ashes and plaques
  • Scheduling appointments, processing payments and following up with families to ensure customer care
  • Supporting the Planning and Memorial Consultants with administrative processes to enhance the overall customer experience
  • Responding to customer enquiries, including unscheduled in-person visitors in order to promote Centennial Park’s pre-eminent service offering
  • Assisting in preparing and despatching all outgoing post/mail items and collating reports and lists for marketing activities
  • Contributing to a culture of teamwork, encouraging diversity in ideas and cohesiveness and building an environment of trust and respect
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records in accordance with Centennial Park’s Records Management Policy and other legislative requirements
  • Participating and contributing in cross functional activities across the organisation

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Well developed administrative skills and competency in Windows based systems and the MS Office suit of programs
  • Highly developed customer service and relationship building skills, with the ability to liaise and collaborate with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Highly organised and self motivated with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and achieve timeframes
  • Ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations professionally to achieve successful outcomes
  • The ability to demonstrate empathy and sensitivity
  • Experience with working in a sensitive customer service industry may be viewed favourably
